
ABOUT
Taylor Svetlichny, MA, LMFTA

Taylor earned a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Whitworth University. She is licensed in the State of Washington as a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, with extensive specialized training in telemental health as well as evidenced based treatment approaches.

Taylor has worked with K- 12 grade children at Medical Lake Elementary and Medical Lake High Schools and adults, families, and couples at the Whitworth Marriage and Family Therapy Center. She is excited to be able to currently provide confidential, accessible, and convenient telehealth mental health services to those located in Washington.
Taylor is originally from Oahu, Hawaii and has made Washington her home for almost a decade. She is a wife, dog mom, and also a professional photographer. Having grown up on an island, Taylor is drawn to oceans and lakes. Whether soaking in the sun, snow, or rain, being near the water renews her soul. Her faith and spirituality, along with spending time with family, taking care of her mind and body, and making connections with others are her inspirations for Discovering Joy Counseling.

Therapeutic Approach
Taylor uses a client-centered, compassion-focused, and culturally-sensitive approach to help clients find greater meaning, purpose, fulfillment, and joy in their lives. She utilizes an attachment theory and systems perspective as she works with clients, integrating an array of evidenced-based therapies that are grounded in the core values of diversity and inclusion, compassion and empathy, collaboration, and hope. She also offers EMDR therapy. Taylor’s non-judgmental, kind, and approachable style creates a welcoming and safe space for clients to experience self-discovery and growth.
